Description

The Oakridge is a 2-light solid brass wall light with a polished finish, built around a symmetrical double-arm design on a sculpted backplate. The backplate carries a raised leaf-motif centrepiece, with two curved brass arms extending from either side, each terminating in a candle-style cup fitted with a white cylindrical sleeve. Each arm takes a single SES (E14) bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

Designed for traditional and heritage interiors, the Oakridge suits formal dining rooms, hallways, staircases and living rooms where period detailing is preserved or recreated. The 11.5cm projection from the wall makes it suitable for narrower hallways and staircases where deeper fittings would intrude into the circulation space. Install as a single fitting on either side of a doorway, fireplace or mirror, or as a pair to frame a feature wall.

The polished brass finish provides high reflectivity and develops a natural patina over time unless regularly polished. The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 1kg weight and a substantial feel when mounted, and the metal accepts both traditional tungsten filament and modern LED SES bulbs depending on the light quality required. The white sleeves diffuse direct glare from the bulb while allowing the candlelight effect to remain visible.

Each arm takes one SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K to replicate the candlelight aesthetic while keeping energy consumption low.

Can the polished brass be maintained or left to patina?

Polished brass naturally develops a darker patina over months to years of exposure to air. To maintain the bright polished finish, wipe periodically with a dry microfibre cloth and use a brass polish as needed. To allow natural patina, leave the fitting untreated.

What wall height is recommended for installation?

In hallways and living rooms, mount the Oakridge at approximately 1.6-1.8m above floor level so the light sits at eye level when standing. On staircases, position it at a height that matches the stair landing or mid-flight level to avoid head clearance issues.

Is it suitable for narrow hallways?

Yes. The 11.5cm projection from the wall makes it a good choice for hallways and staircases where deeper wall lights would reduce clearance. The 27.5cm width suits walls of 80cm or wider without overwhelming the space.
