The Nordan is a 40cm spherical crystal pendant light built around an antique brass cage holding five G9 bulbs inside concentric rows of faceted crystal blocks. Each crystal piece is cut with multiple facets and mounted onto the brass frame in horizontal bands, forming a sphere that disperses light in all directions as the bulbs reflect and refract through the cut glass.

Designed for dining rooms with round tables, entrance halls with double-height ceilings, or central positions in lounges and bedrooms, the Nordan provides both ambient and decorative function. The 40cm diameter suits rooms between 3.5m and 5m square, with the spherical form working best when it has clearance around all sides rather than being pushed close to walls. The antique brass finish on the frame adds warmth to the crystal, creating a golden-toned reflection when the lights are on.

The pendant weighs 7.9kg once assembled, so it requires a ceiling fixing rated for at least 10kg and a ceiling rose capable of supporting the load. The antique brass canopy covers a standard UK ceiling rose, with a single cable running from the canopy down to the sphere. The faceted crystal blocks catch daylight even when the bulbs are off, giving the pendant a sculptural presence throughout the day. Five G9 bulbs are required (sold separately), each up to 42W maximum per socket, allowing flexibility in choosing halogen or LED depending on preferred warmth and brightness.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant sphere is 42cm tall excluding the cable and canopy. For dining table installations the base of the sphere typically sits 700-900mm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.4m. For entrance halls or stairwells with double-height ceilings, the cable length can be adjusted on installation.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. LED G9 bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. Non-dimmable LED bulbs should not be paired with a dimmer switch as they may flicker or fail prematurely.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal block with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the brass frame or allowing moisture into the bulb sockets.
