Description
The Mimo is a 114x110cm asymmetrical wall mirror with an organic, free-form frame finished in hand-applied gold leaf over an MDF base. The mirror surface itself is bevelled around the edge, adding depth to the reflection and catching light at different angles throughout the day. The frame follows a softly irregular outline that suggests a natural form rather than a geometric shape.
Designed for living rooms, hallways and above sideboards or consoles, the Mimo works vertically or horizontally depending on the wall space and the shape of the furniture beneath it. The asymmetrical outline offsets the hard edges of rectilinear furniture and architectural details, adding visual movement without requiring additional decorative objects. The 4cm frame depth gives the mirror a sculptural presence on the wall rather than sitting flat against the surface.
The gold leaf finish is applied by hand, so the surface shows slight tonal variation and texture where the leaf overlaps and settles into the base. This gives the frame a warmer, less uniform appearance than spray-painted or foil-wrapped alternatives. At 19.1kg the mirror requires secure wall fixings into studs or solid masonry, and the weight distributes across the frame rather than concentrating at a single hanging point.
The Mimo is part of the Schuller mirror collection, manufactured in Spain. The bevelled edge on the mirror glass provides a finished perimeter that transitions cleanly to the gold leaf frame without needing an additional inner lip or rebate.

Frequently Asked
Can the Mimo be hung vertically or horizontally?
Yes. The asymmetrical shape works in either orientation, allowing you to choose the orientation that best suits your wall space and the furniture beneath it.
What wall fixings are needed for a 19.1kg mirror?
The mirror requires secure wall fixings rated for at least 25kg, mounted into timber studs or solid masonry. On plasterboard walls without stud positions, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated for the weight. The fixing points should distribute the load across the frame rather than relying on a single central hook.
Is the gold leaf finish consistent across the frame?
No. The gold leaf is applied by hand, so the surface shows slight tonal variation and texture where individual sheets of leaf overlap. This is a characteristic of the hand-finishing process and gives the frame a warmer, less uniform appearance than machine-applied finishes.
What's the difference between the bevelled edge and a flat mirror?
The bevelled edge is ground at an angle around the perimeter of the mirror glass, creating a angled transition from the reflective surface to the frame. This catches and refracts light differently than a flat mirror edge, adding depth and visual interest to the reflection.
