Description
The Mimo is an 82x80cm asymmetrical wall mirror with an organic flowing frame finished in gold leaf over MDF and a bevelled mirror plate. The frame follows an irregular curved outline rather than a geometric shape, with gentle undulations that soften the hard edges typical of rectangular or circular mirrors.
Designed for contemporary living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and dressing areas, the Mimo works above a sideboard or console table as a horizontal piece, or vertically in a narrow wall space between doorways. The 4cm frame depth gives the mirror enough presence to work as a standalone accent without dominating a smaller wall. The bevelled edge on the glass adds a stepped detail that catches light differently to a flat mirror plate, creating subtle movement as viewing angles change throughout the day.
The gold leaf finish on the MDF frame is applied as individual sheets rather than paint, giving a textured metallic surface with slight tonal variation across the frame. This pairs well with warm brass, copper and timber accents in mid-century and contemporary interiors. At 10.2kg the mirror needs secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone. The asymmetrical form means there is no fixed 'correct' orientation — the mirror can be hung horizontally, vertically or on an angle depending on the wall space and surrounding furniture.

Frequently Asked
What fixings are needed for the 10.2kg weight?
The mirror weighs 10.2kg and needs secure wall fixings into solid masonry or timber studs. Standard plasterboard fixings will not hold this weight safely. Use masonry anchors or heavy-duty toggle bolts rated to at least 15kg, and ensure fixings are positioned to engage with the hanging points on the back of the frame.
Can it be hung horizontally or vertically?
Yes. The asymmetrical form has no fixed orientation, so the mirror can be hung horizontally, vertically or on an angle depending on the wall space and surrounding furniture. Check the hanging points on the rear before installation to confirm which orientation suits your preferred mounting method.
What is the gold leaf finish?
The frame is finished with individual sheets of gold leaf applied to the MDF substrate. This creates a textured metallic surface with slight tonal variation, rather than the flat uniform colour of painted gold. The leaf finish is more delicate than powder-coated metal and should not be cleaned with abrasive cloths or chemical sprays.
How is the mirror cleaned?
Clean the bevelled glass with standard glass cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. For the gold leaf frame, dust gently with a dry soft cloth only — avoid moisture, sprays and abrasive materials which can damage the leaf finish.
