Description

The Knightsbridge M7400 is a metal clad telephone extension socket in powder-coated grey SPCC steel, built for utility installations where a standard plastic BT socket would be vulnerable to impact or surface wear. The socket accepts a standard BT plug and connects to the master telephone socket via screw terminals rated for copper telephone cable.

Designed for garages, workshops, industrial areas, plant rooms and external covered locations where secondary telephone points are needed, the metal clad construction provides impact resistance and durability in environments where plastic faceplates would crack or degrade. The IP20 rating confirms protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm, making the socket suitable for dry indoor utility spaces but not for direct exposure to rain or hose-down conditions.

The socket ships with a matching grey powder-coated metal back box measuring 81.2mm square and 48.4mm deep, allowing surface mounting on brick, block, timber or metal stud walls without the need for a recessed back box. The powder-coated finish resists scuffs and minor abrasion, and the screw terminals accept standard multi-core telephone cable for straightforward wiring from the master socket elsewhere in the building.
