Description

The Melden is a 12cm crystal pendant light with a rectangular glass shade housing vertical crystal rods, framed in polished chrome and suspended on a single cable. A G9 bulb (sold separately, max 33W) sits inside the crystal chamber, refracting light through the clear glass rods to create prismatic sparkle and depth.

Designed for focused ceiling placement, the Melden works as a single pendant over bedside tables, vanity areas, or hallway console tables, and in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart along kitchen islands or breakfast bars. The 140cm total drop is adjustable during installation, allowing the pendant to hang 600-900mm above a worktop or side table depending on ceiling height. The narrow 12cm footprint keeps visual clutter low in tight spaces and pairs well with linear arrangements where multiple pendants run parallel.

The polished chrome frame and clear crystal give the fitting a clean, contemporary presence that suits modern interiors with glass, polished concrete, and dark cabinetry. The crystal rods refract light across the surrounding surfaces when the bulb is on, adding movement without colour. The G9 fitting accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs, giving flexibility to choose warm or cool white light temperature based on room function.

What bulb does the Melden take?

The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 capsule between 2W-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient and decorative light.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Melden does not carry an IP rating, so it should not be installed in zones 1 or 2 of a bathroom (directly above a bath or shower, or within reach of either). It can be used in zone 3 (general bathroom areas at least 600mm from water sources) where appropriate.

Can multiple Melden pendants be installed in a row?

Yes. The compact 12cm width makes the Melden suitable for linear arrangements above kitchen islands or dining counters. Spacing individual pendants 400-600mm apart along the run gives balanced coverage without overlap.

Is the cable length adjustable?

The 140cm drop is the total height including the pendant body. The cable can be shortened during installation to suit lower ceilings or shorter drop requirements, but cannot be lengthened beyond the factory setting.
