Description
The Matia is a 50cm tall LED bollard light built around a rectangular dark grey aluminium housing with a frosted opal acrylic diffuser panel set into the central recess. An integrated 18W 3000K LED behind the diffuser casts 490lm of warm white light forward through the panel, providing pathway illumination without glare. The IP65 rating protects the internal components from rain, dust and low-pressure water jets, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK climates.
Designed for driveways, garden paths, patio edges and building perimeters, the Matia delivers functional path lighting with a modern architectural profile. The 17cm width and 8cm depth give the bollard enough presence to mark boundaries and define routes without dominating smaller gardens or narrow pathways. The dark grey powder-coated finish resists UV fade and corrosion, and the 3.94kg weight gives stability when surface-mounted to concrete, paving slabs or timber decking with the fixing points on the base.
The recessed diffuser panel sits approximately 10mm behind the outer frame, which shields the acrylic from direct impact while allowing the lit panel to remain visible from oblique angles. The 3000K colour temperature produces a neutral warm white that complements both warm-toned stonework and cooler grey render or timber cladding. The Class 1 electrical rating requires an earth connection during installation, and the 100-240V voltage range allows use on standard UK 230V mains supply.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP65 certifies the bollard is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes the Matia suitable for driveways, gardens and patios exposed to rain, snow and garden hose spray. It is not submersible and should not be installed in areas that flood or collect standing water.
How is the bollard installed?
The Matia surface-mounts to concrete, paving slabs or timber decking using fixing points on the base. An armoured cable or conduit run is needed to supply mains power to the bollard, and a qualified electrician should connect the Class 1 unit with earth bonding. See the assembly instruction PDF in the Downloads tab for detailed mounting guidance.
Can the LED be replaced?
The 18W LED module is integrated into the bollard housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation. If the LED fails within the warranty period, contact the retailer for a replacement unit.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For path lighting, bollards delivering 490lm at 3000K are typically spaced 3-4 metres apart to provide continuous illumination without dark gaps. Closer spacing of 2-3 metres gives higher light levels for driveways or areas needing better visibility. Spacing wider than 4 metres may leave noticeable gaps in coverage.
