Description

The LYYT wide flush mount profile is a 2m aluminium channel designed for plaster-in installation of LED tape, creating a recessed linear light source that sits flush with the finished wall or ceiling surface. The profile measures 76mm external width by 11.5mm depth, with a 27 x 11mm internal channel that accepts one or two runs of LED tape up to 12mm wide. A snap-fit opal diffuser covers the channel once the LED tape is installed, providing even light distribution along the 2m length.

Designed for permanent installation in new-build or refurbishment projects, the profile is set into a routed or cut channel in plasterboard, then plastered over up to the 3mm lip that runs along both edges. The lip supports the plaster edge and minimises cracking over time. Once the plaster is dry and painted, only the 27mm-wide diffuser remains visible, giving a continuous flush light line with no visible fixings or aluminium edges.

The 2m length allows for long continuous runs with minimal joints — multiple profiles can be butted end-to-end if longer runs are needed, though each 2m section requires separate LED tape wiring. The aluminium extrusion acts as a heat sink for the LED tape, extending lamp life and maintaining consistent output. The profile suits architectural lighting in living rooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (when paired with IP-rated tape) and commercial interiors where concealed linear lighting is specified.

Specification
External cross-section 76 x 11.5mm
Internal cross-section 27 x 11mm
Diffuser visible width 27mm
Frequently Asked

What width LED tape does it accept?

The 27mm internal width accepts LED tape between 8mm and 12mm wide. Standard 10mm single-row LED tape is the most common pairing. Two runs of narrow tape (5mm or 8mm) can be fitted side-by-side if higher output is needed.

How is it installed?

The profile is set into a routed channel in plasterboard or masonry, with the 3mm lip sitting proud of the surface. Plaster is then applied up to the lip, covering the aluminium body but leaving the diffuser channel exposed. The LED tape is installed after plastering and decorating, and the diffuser clips into place once the tape is wired and tested.

Can multiple profiles be joined?

Yes. Profiles can be butted end-to-end to create runs longer than 2m. Each profile section requires separate LED tape wiring — LED tape cannot be run continuously through the joint. Small gaps between profile ends can be filled with decorator's caulk before painting.

Is it suitable for bathroom installation?

The aluminium profile itself is suitable for damp environments, but the LED tape used inside it must carry an appropriate IP rating for the bathroom zone. Pair with IP65 or IP67-rated LED tape for zones 1 and 2, and ensure the transformer is positioned outside the wet zones or is itself IP-rated.
