Description

The LumiLife GU10 spotlight fitting uses a quick-connect terminal block mounted on a sliding bracket, allowing the fitting to be wired and positioned into a ceiling cut-out without needing screwdriver access inside the void. The silver bezel sits flush against plasterboard or plaster ceilings once the spring clips are engaged, and the GU10 lampholder accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 20W (bulb sold separately).

Designed for residential and commercial ceiling installation, the fitting requires a 72mm diameter cut-out and suits standard ceiling depths from 12.5mm plasterboard up to approximately 50mm with insulation clearance. The quick-connect terminal block speeds up installation on multi-spotlight circuits where multiple fittings share the same mains loop. The fitting is fire-rated to Part B (Fire Safety), moisture-resistant to Part C, and sound-resistant to Part E of UK Building Regulations, making it suitable for use in most rooms including kitchens and living spaces (Zone 3 bathroom use only, not for shower or bath zones).

The silver finish provides a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool colour schemes without dominating the ceiling plane. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments. Dimmability depends on the GU10 bulb fitted — pair with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible dimmer switch for adjustable light levels. The 0.27kg weight is light enough for plasterboard ceilings without additional support.

Does this fitting come with a bulb?

No. The GU10 lampholder is supplied empty. You will need to purchase a separate GU10 bulb rated up to 20W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 3W-6W and 2700K-3000K.

What does quick-connect mean?

The terminal block is mounted on a sliding bracket that allows you to wire the fitting outside the ceiling void, then slide the assembly into the cut-out and lock it in place with the spring clips. This removes the need for screwdriver access inside the ceiling cavity during wiring.

Is this fire-rated?

Yes. The fitting complies with Part B (Fire Safety) of UK Building Regulations, meaning it maintains fire resistance when installed in a fire-rated ceiling assembly. It also meets Part C (Resistance to Moisture) and Part E (Resistance to Sound) requirements.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating and Zone 3 suitability mean this fitting can be used in bathroom areas at least 2.25m horizontally from the edge of a bath or shower tray, and outside any overhead shower zones. It is not suitable for installation directly above or near baths, showers or basins.
