Description

The LumiLife GU10 recessed spotlight fitting is a downlight housing with a 72mm cut-out diameter and a quick-connect terminal block for tool-free wiring. The chrome bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, surrounding a GU10 lampholder rated up to 20W. The fitting is supplied without a bulb, allowing the installer or end user to choose their preferred GU10 LED or halogen lamp.

Designed for residential and commercial ceiling installation where a recessed spotlight is needed without the complexity of traditional screw-terminal fittings, the quick-connect terminal block accepts the mains cable and clamps it in place without requiring a screwdriver. This reduces installation time and makes the fitting accessible to competent DIY installers as well as trade electricians. The fitting is IP20 rated for indoor use in dry areas and is suitable for Zone 3 bathroom installation only (outside shower enclosures and immediate bath areas).

The fitting carries Part B (fire safety) and Part E (resistance to sound) compliance, making it suitable for use in ceilings that form part of a fire-rated floor assembly or require acoustic separation between floors. The chrome finish on the bezel provides a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool interior schemes, and the GU10 lampholder accepts any standard GU10 bulb with a maximum 20W rating.

What is the cut-out size needed?

The fitting requires a 72mm diameter hole in the ceiling. This is a standard size for recessed GU10 downlights and can be cut with a 72mm holesaw or adjustable ceiling cutter.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting is supplied with a GU10 lampholder but no bulb. You can pair it with any GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 20W. Most installers use a warm-white LED GU10 between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K for general residential lighting.

How does the quick-connect terminal work?

The terminal block inside the fitting accepts the mains cable and clamps it in place when the lever is pressed down. No screwdriver is needed. Strip the cable ends, insert into the terminal apertures, and close the lever to lock the connection.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating and Zone 3 compliance mean it can be installed in bathrooms outside the immediate shower or bath area — typically beyond 600mm from a water source. It cannot be installed directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure.
