Description

The LumiLife emergency pack converts standard LED downlights into emergency lighting by providing 3 hours of battery backup during mains power failure. The unit houses a rechargeable battery that maintains a trickle charge when mains power is present, automatically switching to battery output when voltage drops. The pack connects between the mains supply and the LED driver, monitoring voltage and activating within 5 seconds of detecting power loss.

Designed for residential stairwells, commercial corridors, hotel rooms and office spaces where maintained emergency lighting is required under building regulations or insurance conditions, the pack retrofits into existing ceiling voids without needing to replace the downlight itself. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations above false ceilings. The compact rectangular housing measures approximately 200mm x 60mm x 40mm, fitting into standard ceiling void depths of 100mm or greater.

The rechargeable battery typically maintains full capacity for 4 years with regular charge-discharge cycles before requiring replacement. The pack works with LED downlights drawing up to 10W during normal operation, outputting reduced power during emergency mode to extend the 3-hour runtime. Installation requires connection to both the mains supply and the LED downlight driver, with basic electrical knowledge recommended for safe wiring.
