Description

The LumiLife 300x300mm backlit panel frame is a surface-mounted steel frame designed to hold 300x300mm LED panels flush to the ceiling where recessed installation is not possible. The frame is constructed from powder-coated steel in white, with a self-assembly design that ships flat and assembles into a four-sided surround that clips or screws onto the ceiling surface.

Designed for commercial offices, retail spaces, educational buildings and residential rooms with solid ceilings (concrete, plasterboard over timber joists, or suspended ceiling tiles that cannot be cut), the frame provides an alternative to recessed mounting. The panel sits inside the frame perimeter, with the frame edge creating a shallow upstand of approximately 30-40mm from the ceiling plane depending on the specific panel thickness. This gives a semi-flush appearance rather than a fully recessed finish.

The white powder-coated finish resists scratching and yellowing under UV exposure from the panel light source, maintaining a clean appearance over the fitting's service life. The frame is compatible with standard 300x300mm backlit LED panels that use edge-lit or direct-lit LED technology. Installation involves fixing the assembled frame to the ceiling using the pre-drilled mounting holes, then placing the panel into the frame and connecting mains power to the panel driver.

Does this frame include the LED panel?

No. The frame is a mounting accessory only. The 300x300mm LED panel is sold separately and must be purchased alongside the frame for a complete installation.

What ceiling types is this suitable for?

The frame suits solid ceilings (plasterboard, concrete) and suspended ceiling grids where the tile cannot be cut to recess the panel. It screws or clips to the ceiling surface and holds the panel in a semi-flush position with a shallow upstand.

How is the frame assembled?

The frame ships flat in four separate steel sections. These clip or screw together at the corners to form a square surround. Assembly typically takes 5-10 minutes and requires no special tools beyond a screwdriver for corner fixings and ceiling mounting screws.

The white powder-coated finish is designed to be durable as supplied. Painting over powder coat requires surface preparation (light sanding) and a primer suitable for metal. Most users leave the frame white to match standard ceiling finishes.
