Description
The LumiLife 18W LED recessed downlight delivers 1,360 lumens of 2700K warm white light through a white powder-coated bezel and diffuser. An integrated LED module sits behind a polycarbonate lens, with a finned aluminium heat sink visible in the rear housing. The fitting includes a remote TRIAC driver compatible with standard leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmer switches.
Designed for ceiling recessing in kitchens, bathrooms (Zones 2 and 3), hallways and commercial spaces, the downlight requires a 140mm cut-out diameter and approximately 100mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the driver and heat sink assembly. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for areas with moisture exposure such as above sinks, showers and kitchen worktops.
The 90-degree beam angle produces a focused pool of light rather than wide ambient coverage, which suits task lighting over worktops, accent lighting for architectural features, or grid layouts where multiple downlights are spaced to provide even illumination. The white finish integrates cleanly into white and light-coloured ceilings. The spring-loaded fixing clips allow the bezel to be removed for lamp changes or maintenance without needing to disconnect the driver.
The fitting carries an F energy rating under the revised EU scale and is rated for 25,000 hours of operation at typical domestic usage cycles. The LED module is non-replaceable, so the entire fitting is replaced at end of life. The 2700K colour temperature provides a warmer tone than 3000K or 4000K alternatives, matching traditional incandescent and halogen downlight colour for residential settings.

Frequently Asked
Is this downlight suitable for bathroom use?
Yes. The IP54 rating allows installation in bathroom Zones 2 and 3, meaning it can be fitted above a bath or shower enclosure (Zone 2) or in general bathroom ceiling areas (Zone 3). It cannot be used in Zone 1 (inside the shower enclosure) or Zone 0 (inside the bath).
What dimmer switches are compatible?
The TRIAC driver works with most standard leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmer switches. Test compatibility with your specific dimmer model before installation, as performance can vary between dimmer brands and types.
What cut-out size and ceiling void depth are needed?
A 140mm diameter cut-out is required in the ceiling surface. The rear housing and driver assembly need approximately 100mm of ceiling void depth above the plasterboard to fit the heat sink and allow adequate air circulation.
Can the LED module be replaced?
No. The LED module is integrated and non-replaceable. At the end of the rated 25,000-hour lifespan, the entire downlight fitting is replaced.
