Description
The Lucellalis is a large ground spike designed to mount outdoor spotlights in soft ground, with a 135mm pointed stake, a hinged angle-adjustment bracket and a circular top plate drilled for fixture mounting. The spike is moulded from black weather-resistant plastic with ribbed reinforcement down the stake length to prevent twisting when driven into soil or turf.
Intended for garden borders, pathway lighting, feature trees and architectural uplighting, the spike provides a stable base for spotlights weighing up to approximately 1.5kg without requiring concrete footings or fixed installation. The hinged bracket allows the spotlight head to be angled between vertical and approximately 45 degrees forward, giving flexibility to direct light onto planting, wall surfaces or ground-level features. The 75mm diameter top plate has pre-drilled holes to accept standard outdoor spotlight base fittings.
The pointed stake tip eases penetration into compacted soil, and the ribbed profile grips the surrounding earth to resist movement from wind loading or accidental knocks. Once positioned, the spike sits with the hinge bracket approximately 60mm above ground level, keeping the spotlight clear of surface water and mulch. The black finish reduces visibility against dark soil and planting, allowing the light effect to dominate rather than the fixture itself.

Frequently Asked
What ground types is the spike suitable for?
The spike works in most garden soils, turf, bark mulch and compacted earth. Very hard clay or stony ground may require pre-drilling a pilot hole. The spike is not intended for concrete, paving or solid surfaces.
What spotlights does it fit?
The top plate accepts most outdoor spotlights with a standard circular base mount. Check that your spotlight has mounting holes that align with the pre-drilled holes in the 75mm diameter plate.
Can the angle be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The hinged bracket allows the spotlight to be angled between vertical and approximately 45 degrees forward. The angle can be re-adjusted at any time without removing the spike from the ground.
How deep does the spike need to be driven?
The full 135mm stake length should be driven into the ground for maximum stability, leaving only the top plate and hinge bracket exposed above ground level.
