Description

The Helio is a 2-light wall sconce built around a central sunburst rosette in polished brass, with two curved arms extending outward to hold candle-style SES bulb holders. The rosette features a radiating petal pattern with beaded edge detailing, and the arms curve away from the wall in symmetrical arcs. Each arm terminates in a drip pan and candle sleeve fitted for Small Edison Screw (SES) bulbs up to 60W per holder.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedroom walls and formal living rooms, the Helio provides accent lighting and decorative detail at eye level. The 11.5cm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, making it suitable for narrower corridors and landing walls where deeper projection would interfere with circulation. The twin bulbs create bilateral symmetry, so the sconce works well positioned centrally above a console table, flanking a doorway, or in pairs along a gallery wall.

The polished brass finish is bright and reflective when new, and develops a patina over time unless polished. The solid brass construction gives the fitting weight and durability — at 0.45kg it requires secure fixing into a masonry wall or studwork. The candle-style holders accept SES candle bulbs in clear glass, frosted, or flame-tip profiles, allowing the user to adjust the visual finish. Pairing with dimmable SES LED bulbs provides adjustable ambient light without the heat output of halogen.

The Helio takes two Small Edison Screw (SES, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit candle-shaped LED bulbs in 4-6W warm white (2700K-3000K) for a traditional look with low running cost.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is compatible with dimmable bulbs. If you fit dimmable SES LED bulbs and connect the circuit to a compatible LED dimmer switch, the light output can be adjusted. Check bulb and dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the brass finished?

The polished brass finish is bright and reflective when new. Over time it develops a natural patina unless regularly polished with a brass cleaner. Some users prefer the aged look; others maintain the bright finish with periodic cleaning.

What wall fixing is required?

The Helio weighs 0.45kg and requires secure wall fixings into masonry (using wall plugs and screws) or into studwork. The back plate is fixed to the wall first, then wired to the mains supply, and the decorative rosette covers the back plate once installation is complete.
