Description
The Halong is a set of two circular rattan storage baskets woven from natural seagrass in a tight diagonal weave pattern. The larger basket measures 50cm diameter with a 10cm depth, and the smaller basket measures 35cm diameter with the same 10cm depth. Both baskets have a shallow bowl profile with slightly flared walls and no handles, designed to sit flat on countertops, shelving or tabletops.
The baskets suit bathroom countertops for holding toiletries, rolled towels or cosmetics, kitchen worktops for bread, fruit or packaged goods, or console tables and side tables for keys, remotes and magazines. The 10cm shallow depth keeps contents visible and accessible rather than buried, making the baskets functional as catchalls in high-traffic areas like hallways and entryways. The nested design allows the smaller basket to sit inside the larger when not in use, reducing storage footprint.
The natural seagrass is left in its raw pale beige tone with visible variation in the weave tightness and fibre colour, typical of handwoven natural materials. The diagonal weave pattern creates a textured surface that pairs well with coastal, Japandi, Scandi and organic contemporary interiors. The combined weight of 1.26kg across both baskets gives enough mass to stay in place on smooth surfaces without sliding when items are placed or removed.

Frequently Asked
Can these be used in bathrooms with high humidity?
Rattan and seagrass tolerate typical bathroom humidity, but avoid placing the baskets in direct contact with standing water or in shower enclosures. If the baskets get damp, allow them to air-dry fully before restacking items inside.
What's the difference between the two baskets?
Both baskets share the same 10cm depth and weave pattern. The larger basket is 50cm in diameter and the smaller is 35cm, allowing the smaller to nest inside the larger when not in use.
Do the baskets have handles?
No. The baskets have flared walls but no handles or cutouts. They're designed to sit in place on surfaces rather than be carried frequently, though they're light enough to lift and move by hand when needed.
How should the rattan be cleaned?
Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth or use a soft brush to remove dust from the weave. For marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but do not soak the rattan or use spray cleaners, as these can weaken the natural fibres.
