Description

The Knightsbridge GU10 recessed tilt downlight is a white die-cast aluminium fitting with a twist-and-lock bezel that secures the fitting into an 80mm ceiling cut-out. The lamp holder tilts up to 25° from vertical, allowing light to be directed across a room or onto a feature wall rather than straight downward. The fitting accepts standard GU10 halogen or LED bulbs up to 50W (sold separately).

Designed for general residential and commercial downlighting where adjustable beam direction is needed, the fitting works in living rooms, hallways, retail spaces and office ceilings. The 150mm minimum void depth requirement means it suits most modern ceiling constructions but may not fit older properties with shallow joist depths. The white powder-coated finish blends into white and light-coloured ceilings, making the fitting less visible when the lamp is off.

The die-cast aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently when paired with halogen bulbs, and the IP20 rating confirms the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only. The Class I earthing requires a standard earth connection during installation. The twist-and-lock mechanism allows the bezel to be removed for lamp changes without needing tools, and the pre-wired GU10 lamp holder reduces installation time compared to fittings requiring on-site wiring of the holder itself.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 150mm void depth is needed to accommodate the 98mm recessed depth of the fitting plus clearance for the lamp and wiring. Measure the gap between the ceiling surface and the structural floor or joists above before ordering.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting accepts standard GU10 bulbs up to 50W maximum. LED GU10 bulbs are recommended for lower running costs and heat output. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the bulb fitted. Most GU10 LED bulbs state whether they are dimmable on the packaging. Pair a dimmable bulb with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer switch for best results.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only and does not carry the IP44 or IP65 rating required for bathroom zones near showers or baths.
