Globe 3 Light Bathroom Spotlight - Matt Black IP44

The Knightsbridge Globe is a 3-light bathroom spotlight with three frosted glass orbs mounted on adjustable matt black arms, fixed to a 220mm circular ceiling plate. Rated IP44, the fitting is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, where it can withstand moisture from steam and splashing without ingress into the electrical components. Each light head takes a G9 capsule bulb (sold separately) up to 25W, hidden inside the frosted glass sphere.

Designed for bathrooms, en-suites and shower rooms with standard ceiling heights, the Globe provides directed task lighting for mirrors, basins and vanity areas. Each of the three heads rotates 350° around its arm and tilts 90° from horizontal to near-vertical, allowing light to be positioned independently. The 187mm projection from the ceiling gives clearance for the orbs when tilted, making the fitting suitable for ceilings above 2.2m where headroom is sufficient.

The matt black finish on the pressed steel backplate and arms gives a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with black bathroom fittings, matt black taps, and dark grout or tile work. The frosted glass orbs diffuse the G9 light source evenly, softening glare and giving a more ambient spread than clear glass. The Class I earthed construction requires connection to an earth terminal in the ceiling rose during installation.

Knightsbridge produces this Globe design in single and double-light versions and in polished chrome as well as matt black, allowing the style to be carried across different rooms or matched to existing bathroom metalwork.

What bathroom zones is this suitable for?

The IP44 rating makes the Globe suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which are areas outside the immediate shower enclosure or bath tub. Zone 2 covers the area within 60cm horizontally from a bath or shower basin, and zone 3 is beyond that. The fitting is not rated for zone 0 (inside the bath or shower tray) or zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower to a height of 2.25m).

What bulbs does it take?

Each of the three heads takes a G9 capsule bulb up to 25W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs rated at 2-4W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bathroom use, which gives sufficient light output while reducing energy consumption compared to halogen capsules.

Can the heads be aimed independently?

Yes. Each head rotates 350° around its vertical axis and tilts 90° from horizontal to near-vertical, so all three can be aimed in different directions to light a mirror, basin and shower area separately.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the G9 bulb you fit. Dimmable G9 LED bulbs exist and will dim on a compatible LED dimmer switch, but standard non-dimmable G9 LEDs will not. Check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer.
