Description

The Georin is a single-arm wall light cast in solid brass with a polished finish, featuring an oval backplate edged with decorative beading and a curved arm rising to a candle-style bulb holder. The light takes a single SES (E14) bulb up to 60W, with the flame-tip or candle-shaped bulb sitting exposed above the brass socket to mimic traditional candlelight.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, dressing areas and staircases in period homes or classically-styled interiors, the Georin works well in pairs flanking a mirror, doorway or corridor section where wall-mounted light is needed without heavy projection. At 18cm projection from the wall, the fitting sits close enough to avoid head strikes in narrow passages while the 19cm height keeps the light source at eye level or just above when mounted at standard 1.5-1.7m switch height.

The polished brass finish gives a high-gloss reflective surface that catches both natural and artificial light, creating highlights that lift the metalwork in darker hallways or low-lit bedrooms. The beaded edge on the oval backplate adds a neoclassical detail that pairs with Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architectural features, while the compact 8cm backplate diameter keeps the wall fixing discreet. What bulb does the Georin take?

The Georin takes a single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Flame-tip or candle-shaped LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K work well to replicate traditional candlelight while keeping energy use low. Bulbs are sold separately.

How is the brass maintained?

Polished brass develops a natural patina over time unless regularly maintained. To retain the high-gloss finish, wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For tarnish removal, use a dedicated brass polish applied sparingly with a soft cloth, then buff to restore the shine. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

What wall fixing is needed?

The 0.30kg weight allows the Georin to be mounted on solid walls with standard screws and rawl plugs, or on hollow partition walls with cavity fixings rated for at least 1kg. The oval backplate measures 8cm across, so ensure the fixing points align with your wall structure.
