Description

The Flessen is an 8-light solid brass chandelier with a central turned column and eight curved arms radiating symmetrically outward, each ending in a candle-style holder for an SES bulb (sold separately). The gunmetal finish is a dark, slightly reflective coating over the solid brass frame, providing a contemporary alternative to polished or antique brass while retaining the weight and form of a traditional chandelier.

Designed for dining rooms with tables seating 6-8 people, entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, and larger living spaces where a formal centrepiece is needed. The 71cm diameter gives the chandelier presence without overwhelming a 3m x 3.5m dining area. The eight arms are arranged in two tiers — four lower, four higher — creating depth and allowing the chandelier to cast light both upward and downward when fitted with candle-shaped bulbs. The chain-hung installation conceals the cable inside the central column and the chain links.

The gunmetal finish has a low sheen that reflects ambient light without the high polish of chrome or the warmth of brass. This makes the Flessen pair comfortably with both warm-toned interiors (where it provides contrast) and cooler industrial or minimalist schemes (where it reinforces the palette). At 4kg the chandelier has noticeable weight and requires secure ceiling fixing to a joist or suitable anchor point. The solid brass construction means the frame will not flex or vibrate under the weight of the arms.

What bulbs does the Flessen take?

The chandelier takes eight SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with candle-shaped LED bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for warm ambient light that complements the gunmetal finish.

What ceiling height is needed?

The chandelier body is 43cm tall excluding the chain and ceiling rose. For dining table installation, allow 700-900mm clearance between the table surface and the lowest point of the chandelier. This typically requires a ceiling height of 2.7m or above. The chain can be shortened during fitting if needed.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used and the dimmer switch installed. LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with compatible trailing-edge dimmers. The chandelier frame itself does not affect dimming — only the bulb and switch pairing matters.

How is the gunmetal finish maintained?

Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household sprays, polishes or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish coating over time.
