The Flessen is a 2-light wall light built around a turned central column in polished brass, from which two curved arms extend symmetrically to hold candle-effect SES bulb holders. The central column features a bulbous lower section and a ribbed upper finial, with decorative detailing on the arm brackets that echoes period metalwork. The polished brass finish gives a high-gloss reflective surface that catches and bounces ambient light.

Designed for hallways, formal sitting rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms with traditional or period styling, the Flessen works well in pairs flanking a mirror, fireplace or doorway. The 15cm projection and 29cm width suit walls with space to accommodate decorative fittings without encroaching on circulation routes. Each arm holds a single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, giving a combined maximum of 120W across the fitting — enough for ambient light rather than task lighting.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting 0.65kg of weight, providing substance without requiring heavy-duty fixings. The polished finish is a high-maintenance choice that will develop fingerprints and tarnish over time unless regularly buffed, so it suits spaces where the fitting is touched infrequently. What bulb does it take?

The Flessen takes two SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair it with candle-shaped LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) at 4-6W for a traditional candle effect.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable LED or halogen SES bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, the fitting itself will support dimming. Mains wiring to the wall light needs to be routed through a dimmer for this to work.

How is polished brass maintained?

Polished brass develops fingerprints, tarnish and oxidation over time. To maintain the high-gloss finish, buff gently with a soft microfibre cloth and a brass polish every few months. Avoid abrasive cleaners that scratch the surface.

What wall fixings are needed?

At 0.65kg the fitting is light enough for standard UK plasterboard fixings with cavity anchors, or a single screw and rawlplug into masonry. The backplate sits flush to the wall and covers the wiring entry point and fixing screws once installed.
