Description
The Eveready 4.9W LED golf ball bulb is a compact B22 bayonet-base bulb producing 470 lumens of warm white 3000K light. Each bulb in the 2-pack measures 45mm diameter by 78mm height, fitting typical table lamp, wall light and pendant fittings where space is limited. The 4.9W power draw replaces a conventional 40W incandescent bulb while cutting energy consumption by around 85%.
Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas where soft ambient light is needed, the bulbs suit table lamps, bedside fittings, wall lights and smaller pendant shades. The B22 bayonet base fits standard UK lamp holders and locks with a quarter-turn twist. The bulbs are non-dimmable, so they perform best on standard on/off switches rather than dimmer circuits.
Each bulb is rated for up to 10,000 hours of use, which translates to approximately 10 years if used 3 hours per day. The 240° beam angle provides wide light distribution rather than a focused spot, making the bulbs suitable for general room lighting rather than directional tasks. The mercury-free construction and energy rating of F (on the current A-G scale) reflect the bulb's position as a basic LED replacement rather than a high-efficiency model.

Frequently Asked
Can these bulbs be used with a dimmer switch?
No. These are non-dimmable bulbs and will flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit. They require a standard on/off switch for reliable operation.
What is the light colour like?
The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light similar to a traditional incandescent bulb, with a slight yellow-orange tone that suits residential interiors. This is warmer than the neutral white (4000K) or cool white (5000K+) found in commercial settings.
How long will the bulbs last?
Each bulb is rated for 10,000 hours. At 3 hours per day this equates to approximately 10 years of use. Actual lifespan depends on usage patterns and operating temperature.
What does the F energy rating mean?
The F rating on the current A-G scale indicates this is a basic LED bulb rather than a high-efficiency model. It is still significantly more efficient than an incandescent bulb, using around 85% less energy for the same light output.
