Description

The Energizer round bulkhead is a 15W integrated LED fitting with a circular black polycarbonate body and an opal diffuser, delivering 1,105 lumens at 4000K cool white. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for outdoor wall mounting on porches, rear entrances, garden sheds, and garage exteriors.

Designed for functional outdoor lighting rather than decorative accent, the bulkhead suits locations where consistent, even illumination is needed across doorways, pathways adjacent to buildings, or work areas near external walls. The 120-degree beam angle spreads light broadly across the mounting surface without creating harsh spotlighting. The black finish sits flush against most wall colours without standing out visually during daylight hours.

The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion in coastal or damp environments and withstands minor impacts better than glass or acrylic equivalents. At 73 lumens per watt the fitting runs cooler than older halogen bulkheads and draws approximately 15W on 230V mains. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated for Zone 2 and Zone 3 bathroom installation, meaning it can be mounted on bathroom walls outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure.

Can this be used outdoors in all weather?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, so the bulkhead can be mounted on exposed outdoor walls in rain and coastal environments. It is not submersible and should not be installed where it will be directly hosed or pressure-washed.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced separately. The rated lifespan is typically 25,000-30,000 hours, which equates to approximately 10-12 years of use at 6 hours per day.

What mounting method does it use?

The bulkhead mounts directly to a wall surface using screws through fixing points on the rear of the base. The base must be fixed to a solid wall or a waterproof outdoor electrical back box. Cable entry is typically via a knockout gland on the rear.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes, but only in Zone 2 or Zone 3. Zone 2 is the area extending 600mm beyond the bath or shower enclosure; Zone 3 is anywhere outside Zone 2. The bulkhead cannot be mounted directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure (Zone 0 or Zone 1).
