Description
The Energizer 12.6W LED GLS is a dimmable daylight bulb with a B22 bayonet cap, delivering 1521 lumens at 6500K. The GLS (general lighting service) shape is the standard pear-shaped bulb profile that fits most table lamps, pendant fittings and ceiling fixtures expecting a traditional bulb form. At 12.6W, it replaces a 100W incandescent while drawing approximately one-eighth of the power.
Designed for kitchens, bathrooms, home offices and workshops where cooler, brighter light aids visibility and concentration, the 6500K colour temperature sits at the daylight end of the spectrum. This produces a crisp, white light that renders colours more accurately than warm white (2700K-3000K) bulbs, making it easier to distinguish detail on surfaces, paperwork or food preparation. The dimmable function works with most standard UK trailing-edge dimmers, allowing output to be reduced when full brightness is not needed.
The bulb carries an E energy rating under the revised 2021 EU energy label and is rated for up to 15 years of typical use (approximately 15,000 hours at average domestic switching patterns). The B22 bayonet fitting is the most common bulb cap type in UK residential lighting, identifiable by the two metal pins on either side of the base that twist-lock into the lampholder.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
Yes. The bulb is dimmable and works with most trailing-edge dimmers. Performance depends on the specific dimmer model — some older leading-edge dimmers may cause flickering or fail to dim smoothly. If in doubt, check that your dimmer is rated for LED loads.
What's the difference between 6500K and warm white bulbs?
6500K produces a crisp, cool-toned daylight white that renders colours more accurately and increases alertness. Warm white (2700K-3000K) produces a softer, yellowish light that feels more relaxing. Daylight bulbs suit task-focused spaces (kitchens, offices, bathrooms), while warm white suits living rooms and bedrooms.
How long does the bulb last?
Energizer rates this bulb for up to 15 years of typical use, which assumes approximately 3 hours of operation per day. At higher daily usage the lifespan shortens proportionally, but LED degradation is gradual — the bulb dims slowly rather than failing suddenly like an incandescent.
What does the E energy rating mean?
The E rating is from the revised 2021 EU energy label, which replaced the old A++ scale. Under the new scale, most LED bulbs fall between D and F, with A and B reserved for future technologies. An E rating still indicates good efficiency compared to halogen or incandescent alternatives.
