Description
The Elara is a 60cm industrial table lamp with a smoked glass dome shade suspended on an adjustable black metal arm from a circular black base. The lamp head pivots on a brass-bushed joint at the top of the stem, allowing the 16cm glass dome to be angled towards a desk surface, a reading position, or up onto a wall as directed task light. The ES27 bulb fitting accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 40W (sold separately).
Designed for desks, sideboards, bedside tables and console tables where adjustable task light is needed without a fixed ceiling fitting, the Elara pairs directional function with the visual weight of smoked glass. The curved metal arm extends approximately 30cm from the base when fully angled, giving enough reach to sit behind a laptop or at the edge of a desk without the base occupying the full work surface. The 2.4kg combined weight of the glass shade and metal frame gives stability without needing to be clamped or weighted further.
The smoked glass dome softens and diffuses the light source, reducing glare compared to a bare bulb while still allowing enough light transmission for focused reading or desk work. The black powder-coated metal arm and base pair cleanly with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors, and the exposed mechanical joint at the head gives a functional, workshop-inspired character. The smoked finish on the glass varies slightly in density depending on the manufacturing batch, so tonal depth can differ between individual pieces.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Elara take?
The lamp takes a standard ES27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-8W and 2700K-3000K for desk or reading use.
Can the lamp head be adjusted?
Yes. The glass dome and lamp head pivot on a joint at the top of the black metal arm, allowing the light to be angled towards a desk surface, a reading position, or up onto a wall. The arm itself is fixed in its curve and does not fold or telescope.
How much desk space does the base require?
The circular base has a 16cm diameter footprint. When the arm is angled forward the lamp head projects approximately 30cm from the base, so the lamp works best positioned at the edge or corner of a desk rather than in the centre of a narrow work surface.
Does the smoked glass vary between pieces?
Yes. The density and tonal depth of the smoked glass can vary slightly between manufacturing batches, so individual pieces may differ in how much light they transmit when lit. This is a characteristic of the tinted glass process, not a defect.
