Eden Table Lamp - Gold Leaf with Nacre Shade

The Eden is a 65cm table lamp from Schuller combining a sculptural metal base finished in gold leaf and black lacquer with a conical nacre shade. The base features two interlocking oval rings stacked vertically, the upper ring finished in glossy black lacquer and the lower in gold leaf, creating a geometric profile that sits on a circular gold leaf plinth. The nacre shade is built from layered mother-of-pearl sheets that diffuse the light and add an iridescent quality when the lamp is lit.

Designed for console tables, sideboards and bedside tables in formal sitting rooms, entrance halls and master bedrooms, the Eden provides ambient light through an E27 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 20W. The 900lm output at full power is enough to light a 3-4m console area or a bedside reading position when paired with a warm-white LED. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The gold leaf finish on the base and plinth is applied by hand, so tonal variation between individual lamps is normal. The black lacquer on the upper oval ring provides contrast and defines the sculptural form when viewed against lighter walls. The nacre shade measures approximately 22cm at its widest point and tapers to fit the lamp holder, with each sheet of mother-of-pearl showing natural colour shifts from cream to pale gold depending on the angle of view. At 2.05kg the lamp has enough weight to remain stable on most surfaces without tipping.

What bulb does the Eden take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting in living rooms or bedrooms.

Can the nacre shade be cleaned?

Nacre (mother-of-pearl) is delicate and should only be wiped with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the iridescent surface of the shell layers.

Is the gold leaf finish consistent between lamps?

No. The gold leaf is applied by hand, so tonal variation and slight differences in the finish are normal between individual pieces. This is characteristic of the handcrafted process, not a defect.

What rooms is the Eden suited to?

The Eden works on console tables in entrance halls, sideboards in formal sitting rooms, and bedside tables in master bedrooms. The IP20 rating means it must be used in dry indoor locations only and cannot be used in bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.
