Description

The Knightsbridge 8270SB is a pre-wired E27 pendant holder built from premium-grade steel with a smoked bronze finish. The fitting comprises a 100mm diameter ceiling rose and a 40mm cylindrical lamp holder connected by a 150mm length of black braided flex. The lamp holder accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W and is rated T2 for incandescent or LED bulbs.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, utility rooms and commercial settings where a simple pendant drop is needed without additional chain or rod suspension, this holder provides a fixed 272.5mm drop from ceiling to base of lamp holder. The pre-wired construction reduces installation time by eliminating field wiring of the holder itself — the electrician connects the ceiling rose terminals to the mains supply and the fitting is ready for a bulb. The terminal block accepts 2 x 1.5mm² cable.

The smoked bronze finish is a dark, warm metallic tone that sits between gunmetal and antique brass, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors. The steel construction provides rigidity and the Class II double-insulation rating means no earth connection to the lamp holder body is required, though an earth terminal is provided in the ceiling rose for circuit earthing. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

What bulb does it take?

The holder takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting.

Can the drop length be adjusted?

No. The drop is fixed at 272.5mm from ceiling to base of lamp holder. The 150mm braided cable between ceiling rose and holder is not adjustable on site.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you install. The holder itself is compatible with dimmers, but you must use a dimmable LED or incandescent bulb and pair it with an appropriate dimmer switch.

What certifications does it carry?

The holder is certified to BS EN 60598-2-1 and BS EN 60598-1, the British and European standards for pendant luminaires and general luminaire safety. It carries a Class II double-insulation rating and an IP20 rating for dry indoor use only.
