Description

The Drift is a 51cm circular suspension light built around a halo of vertical chrome blades with cascading crystal droplets between each fin. Six G9 bulb fittings (sold separately) sit within the frame, casting light through the crystal tiers and reflecting off the polished chrome surfaces. The fitting suspends on three fine steel cables from a circular chrome ceiling rose.

Designed for positioning over round or rectangular dining tables, the Drift provides both ambient and decorative lighting in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 43cm drop from ceiling rose to the base of the crystal tier means the fitting sits approximately 500-700mm above a typical dining table when cables are shortened during installation. The circular form distributes light evenly across a 4-6 seat dining area without creating harsh directional shadows.

Each vertical chrome blade is mirrored on both faces, amplifying light output and creating reflections that shift as you move around the room. The crystal droplets between the blades refract light into soft prismatic patterns on nearby walls and ceilings when the fitting is lit. At 7.5kg the Drift requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or concrete, not plasterboard alone. The polished chrome finish pairs with cooler-toned interiors, grey kitchen islands, white marble surfaces and monochrome schemes.

The fitting takes six G9 capsule bulbs up to 28W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs in the 3-5W range at 2700K-3000K for warm white light suitable for dining.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The three suspension cables can be shortened during installation to suit ceiling height and the position above a table. The 43cm measurement is the height of the fitting itself from ceiling rose to the base of the crystal tier.

What ceiling fixing is required?

At 7.5kg the Drift requires fixing into a ceiling joist, solid concrete, or a secure mounting block rated for the weight. Plasterboard fixings alone are not adequate.

How is the crystal maintained?

Wipe crystal droplets gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For built-up dust, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid sprays, polishes or soaking the crystals. The chrome frame can be wiped with a soft dry cloth to remove fingerprints.
