Description

The Domo is a 55cm diameter ceiling lamp shade in white fabric with a chromed vinyl interior lining and a translucent methacrylate lower diffuser. The shade is designed as a replacement or upgrade component for the Domo 4 Light Semi-Flush ceiling fitting, fixing to the ceiling plate via a dedicated hold system that centres the shade over the four lamp arms.

Designed for medium to large rooms where the ceiling fitting sits centrally, the 55cm diameter provides visual weight over a dining table, in a lounge above a seating arrangement, or in a bedroom as the primary light source. The white fabric exterior softens the light output, while the chromed vinyl lining inside the drum reflects light back down through the translucent diffuser, reducing the amount of light absorbed by the fabric and increasing the effective output from the four bulbs inside. The diffuser itself prevents direct view of the bulbs from below, eliminating glare.

The 17cm height gives the shade a low-profile drum proportion that works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings without dominating the vertical space. The fabric is a smooth-weave textile that resists sagging when fitted and can be wiped clean with a dry microfibre cloth. At 1.5kg the shade adds minimal load to the ceiling fitting and can be installed or removed without re-wiring the fixture itself.

Is this shade compatible with other ceiling fittings?

The Domo shade is designed specifically for the Domo 4 Light Semi-Flush ceiling fitting from Schuller, using a dedicated fixing system. It may not fit other ceiling fittings without modification.

Can the shade be cleaned?

Yes. Wipe the white fabric exterior with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a very lightly dampened cloth can be used, but avoid soaking the fabric. The chromed vinyl interior can be wiped in the same way.

What rooms is the 55cm size suited to?

The 55cm diameter works in medium to large rooms, typically dining rooms, lounges and bedrooms where the ceiling fitting is the primary light source. In smaller rooms under 12 square metres, a smaller shade diameter may be more proportionate.

Does the shade come with bulbs or the ceiling fitting?

No. This is the shade only. The Domo 4 Light Semi-Flush ceiling fitting and bulbs are sold separately.
