Description

The Dione is a 145cm linear island chandelier housing 11 G9 bulbs (sold separately) behind a rectangular array of faceted crystal prisms set into a polished chrome frame. The vertical crystal stacks refract light from each bulb into the surrounding space, casting both direct downlight onto a table or worktop and scattered highlights onto nearby walls and ceilings.

Designed for dining tables longer than 2m, large kitchen islands and open-plan living areas where the ceiling height allows for a 47cm pendant body plus suspension cable, the Dione provides both ambient and task lighting in a single fitting. The rectangular canopy fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose and four slim suspension wires support the 28kg crystal and chrome assembly. Installation requires two people due to the weight and width of the fixture.

The polished chrome finish reflects light from the crystal and maintains a clean metallic surface that pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and contemporary hardware finishes. Each crystal prism is multi-faceted, so the light output varies depending on viewing angle, from a table beneath the fitting the crystals appear as individual bright points, while from the side the whole assembly reads as a continuous wall of refractive material. The 36cm projection from front to back gives the fixture enough visual mass to balance a 2.5-3m dining table without overwhelming smaller kitchen islands.

What bulbs does it take?

The Dione takes 11 G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs rated between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for dining applications. Total combined wattage should not exceed the fixture's rated maximum, check the Specification tab for exact limits.

What table length does it suit?

The 145cm width works best over dining tables between 2-3m long, positioned with the fixture centred along the table's length. For kitchen islands the fixture can run parallel to the island worktop or be positioned centrally over a breakfast bar section.

How is it installed?

The fixture weighs 28kg and requires two people to lift and hang. The rectangular canopy fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose and the four suspension wires thread through the canopy before the crystal assembly is attached. Ceiling joists must support the combined weight of fitting and bulbs.

Can the crystals be removed for cleaning?

The crystal prisms are fixed into the chrome frame and are not user-removable. To clean, switch off the mains power, allow bulbs to cool, and wipe the crystals with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or getting moisture into the G9 sockets.
