Description

The Dauren V2 is a single-light wall light built around a polished brass backplate carved with layered botanical detail in an antique French style. A curved arm emerges from the base and rises to a faux candle stem holding an SES bulb fitting (bulb sold separately, up to 60W). The vertical orientation and 19cm height suit narrow wall sections where a compact decorative fitting is needed without projecting far into the room.

Designed for hallways, bedroom alcoves, dressing areas and corridor sections between doorways, the Dauren V2 works individually as an accent light or in pairs for symmetrical applications flanking mirrors, artwork or passage entries. The 17cm projection from the wall clears typical skirting and coving profiles while keeping the fitting close enough to the wall for safe passage in narrow corridors. The polished brass finish reflects ambient light and highlights the carved detail of the backplate.

The botanical carving on the backplate features layered leaf and scroll motifs cast into the solid brass before polishing, giving depth and shadow variation when the fitting is lit or when daylight catches the surface from the side. At 0.60kg the fitting mounts securely to plasterboard with appropriate fixings or directly to solid masonry. The polished brass develops a natural patina over time in high-humidity environments; periodic buffing with a soft cloth restores the original high shine.

What bulb does it take?

The Dauren V2 uses an SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K) to match the traditional styling.

Can it be fitted to plasterboard walls?

Yes. At 0.60kg the fitting can be mounted to plasterboard using appropriate cavity fixings rated for the load. For solid masonry walls, standard wall plugs and screws are sufficient.

Does the polished brass tarnish?

Polished brass develops a natural patina over time, particularly in high-humidity environments like bathrooms or coastal areas. This can be left to age naturally or buffed periodically with a soft microfibre cloth and brass polish to restore the high shine.

Is it suitable for use in pairs?

Yes. The compact vertical profile and symmetrical design make the Dauren V2 well-suited to symmetrical installations flanking mirrors, doorways or artwork. The 6.5cm backplate diameter and 17cm projection allow two fittings to be mounted relatively close together without visual crowding.
