The Columbia is a 20cm square noughts and crosses game built on a matt black wooden base with four antique brass crosses fixed across the surface and four freestanding brass rings as playing pieces. The crosses divide the base into a nine-square grid, creating the playing field for the classic two-player game.

Designed as both a functional game and a permanent tabletop object, the Columbia sits on coffee tables, side tables, console tables and bookshelves where it acts as a sculptural accent when not in use. The brass elements are solid metal rather than plated, giving the pieces a satisfying weight during play and a developing patina over time. The 5cm height keeps the game stable on most surfaces without dominating sightlines across a room.
