Description

The Calyn is a 12cm crystal pendant light with a globe-shaped shade built from faceted cut-glass prisms set in a metal frame, suspended on a polished chrome canopy and cable. A single G9 bulb (sold separately, maximum 33W) sits inside the crystal globe, casting light through the faceted prisms which refract the beam into ambient patterns across walls and ceilings.

Designed for kitchens, bathrooms, dressing areas and hallways where ceiling height is limited, the Calyn's compact 15cm drop (excluding suspension cable) suits rooms where a traditional pendant would hang too low. The 12cm diameter globe provides enough visual presence to anchor a space without dominating it, making the fitting useful in pairs over a vanity unit, in a row of three above a kitchen island, or as a single accent in an entrance hall or walk-in wardrobe.

The polished chrome finish on the canopy, cable collar and internal frame maintains a high-reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, mirror frames and cabinet hardware in bathrooms and dressing rooms. The crystal globe itself weighs 1.1kg when fitted, giving the pendant a substantial feel despite the small diameter. What bulb does the Calyn take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for bathroom or dressing room use.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Calyn is suitable for bathroom zones 3 and outside zones (more than 60cm from a water source). Confirm the installation zone with your electrician before fitting in wet areas.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool fully. Wipe each crystal prism with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or using household spray cleaners.

What suspension length is provided?

The 15cm height listed is the crystal globe and canopy only. The suspension cable length is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at the required drop for your ceiling height. Check with your electrician for the maximum cable length supplied.
