Description
The Beacon Assist Call Kit is a wireless nurse call system comprising three components: a cancel button panel (BAPCM), a pull cord activation panel (BAM), and a call monitor panel (BACM). The system allows residents or patients to summon assistance via the red pull cord, with alerts transmitted wirelessly to a master station, expander or BA4ZM zone module. The cancel button allows staff to reset the call once attended, and the monitor panel provides visual and audible confirmation of call status with high-volume sounder and LED indication.
Designed for care homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and accessible toilet installations where BS8300 compliance is required, the kit provides the essential call points needed for a single room or bathroom. The pull cord panel typically mounts adjacent to a toilet or shower at a height accessible from a seated or fallen position, the cancel button mounts near the door for staff access on exit, and the monitor panel fits outside the room or at a nursing station to provide local indication before the call is relayed to the central system.
Each panel can be flush-mounted into a standard single-gang back box or surface-mounted using separately-purchased mount boxes (not included in the kit). The brushed stainless-steel faceplates with blue 'Assist Call' branding provide clear visual identification for users and meet accessibility standards for contrast and legibility. The wireless operation eliminates the need for cabling between call points and master station, simplifying installation in retrofit and refurbishment projects. The system is fully compliant with BS8300 accessibility standards for emergency assistance call systems.

Frequently Asked
What master station or control unit is required?
The kit requires a separate Beacon master station, expander module or BA4ZM zone module to receive and process the wireless call signals. The master station is not included in this kit and must be purchased separately.
Can the panels be flush-mounted?
Yes. Each panel fits a standard single-gang back box for flush mounting into a wall. Alternatively, the panels can be surface-mounted using separately-purchased single-gang surface mount boxes, which are not included in the kit.
What is the wireless range?
Wireless range depends on building construction and interference from other systems. Typical range in commercial care environments with stud walls is 30-50m line-of-sight, reducing where signals pass through solid masonry or metal-framed walls. Site surveys are recommended for larger installations.
Is the system BS8300 compliant?
Yes. The kit is fully compliant with BS8300 accessibility standards for emergency assistance call systems, including the requirements for contrast, visual indication, audible confirmation and accessible pull cord positioning.
