Description

The Bachelor is a 220mm square outdoor LED wall light with an integrated 14W LED producing 1180lm at 3000K warm white, housed behind an opal white diffuser. The light can be surface-mounted to walls or ceilings, with an IP65 rating against dust and water ingress making it suitable for exterior positions exposed to rain and wind.

Designed for porches, patios, covered walkways and entrance areas, the Bachelor provides functional illumination where ceiling heights allow a flush-fitting or where wall-mounted lighting is preferred over ground-level bollards. The 122-degree beam angle distributes light widely across a porch floor or patio seating area, while the opal diffuser eliminates visible LED points and gives an even glow. The 82mm projection from the wall or ceiling is shallow enough to avoid head-height clearance issues in covered outdoor corridors.

The white powder-coated aluminium frame and diffuser give the fitting a clean, geometric profile that pairs with both modern render finishes and painted brick. The IP65 seal is maintained by a gasket between the frame and diffuser, protecting the internal LED driver and preventing moisture ingress in outdoor installations. At 1.66kg the fitting is substantial enough to remain stable under typical wind loads when securely fixed to masonry or timber cladding.

Can the Bachelor be used in fully exposed outdoor positions?

Yes. The IP65 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for uncovered walls, soffits and ceilings exposed to rain. The gasket seal between the frame and diffuser prevents moisture reaching the LED driver.

Is the LED dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and operates at a fixed 14W output. It is powered directly from 100-240V mains supply without requiring an external driver.

Can it be ceiling-mounted as well as wall-mounted?

Yes. The 82mm shallow projection and square profile allow the Bachelor to be surface-mounted to ceilings in covered outdoor areas such as canopies, pergolas and porch soffits, as well as to vertical walls.

What coverage area does 1180lm provide outdoors?

At 1180lm with a 122-degree beam angle, the Bachelor provides functional illumination for a porch floor area of approximately 3-4m square, or can be used to wash light across a patio seating area when mounted 2-2.5m above ground level.
