Description
The Apo is a 31cm diameter aluminium bowl with a coral-inspired cut-out pattern forming the upper half of the bowl's surface. The bowl is cast in solid aluminium with a raw silver finish, showing the natural surface texture of the cast metal. The coral pattern creates an open lattice around the rim while the lower hemisphere remains solid, giving the bowl structural integrity and a 1.2kg weight.
Designed as a decorative centrepiece for dining tables, console tables, coffee tables and sideboards, the Apo works in both modern and coastal-themed interiors. The bowl can be displayed empty to showcase the coral pattern or used to hold decorative objects such as dried botanicals, potpourri, or wrapped items. The 18cm depth provides enough volume for larger displays without overwhelming a typical dining or console table surface.
The raw aluminium finish develops a natural patina over time, shifting from bright silver towards a softer grey-silver tone depending on exposure to air and handling. The coral cut-outs allow light to pass through when the bowl is positioned near a window or lamp, casting patterned shadows onto the surface below. The cast construction and 1.2kg weight give the bowl stability on polished surfaces without needing a felt base.
This bowl is not food-safe and should not be used for direct contact with fresh fruit, unwrapped food, or liquids. It is suitable for decorative display only.

Frequently Asked
Can the bowl be used for fruit or food?
No. The bowl is not food-safe and should not be used for direct contact with fresh fruit, unwrapped food, or liquids. It is suitable for decorative display only. Wrapped items or non-food decorative objects are acceptable.
How is the coral pattern created?
The pattern is part of the cast aluminium mould, not applied afterwards. The bowl is cast as a single piece with the coral cut-outs forming an integral part of the structure around the rim and upper hemisphere.
Does the silver finish tarnish?
The raw aluminium finish develops a natural patina over time, shifting from bright silver towards a softer grey-silver tone. This is a characteristic of uncoated cast aluminium and is not a defect. The finish can be gently polished with a soft cloth if a brighter surface is preferred.
What weight can the bowl support?
The bowl itself weighs 1.2kg and has a solid lower hemisphere with an open lattice upper section. It is designed for lightweight decorative objects rather than heavy items. Avoid placing objects exceeding 2-3kg inside the bowl to prevent stress on the coral pattern.
