Allara 6 Light Crystal Island Chandelier - Chrome

The Allara is a 6-light linear island chandelier built on a polished chrome frame, measuring approximately 800mm long by 230mm high, with six G9 bulb holders spaced evenly along the length. The frame supports a dense curtain of faceted crystal prisms that hang in vertical strands, creating a reflective screen that catches and fractures light from the six bulbs and from ambient daylight entering the room.

Designed for positioning above kitchen islands, long dining tables, and rectangular work surfaces, the Allara's linear form provides even illumination across an 1800-2400mm table length without creating hotspots. The 230mm height and vertical crystal arrangement keep the fitting visually open, so sightlines across the table remain clear for seated conversation. The ceiling mount uses a circular chrome canopy and adjustable cable suspension, allowing the drop height to be set between 600mm and 1500mm depending on ceiling height and table position.

The crystal prisms are faceted K9 optical glass cut to create prismatic light refraction, so the fitting produces visible sparkle even when the bulbs are off during daylight. Each of the six G9 bulb positions accepts up to 33W per bulb (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or eco-halogen bulbs depending on preferred light temperature and dimmer compatibility. The polished chrome frame provides a high-gloss metallic finish that pairs cleanly with contemporary kitchen hardware, bathroom fittings and modern dining furniture.

What bulbs does it take?

The Allara takes six G9 capsule bulbs, rated up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 4-6W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for efficient, long-life operation. G9 halogen bulbs are also compatible if dimming is required.

What table length does it suit?

The 800mm linear form works well above dining tables between 1800mm and 2400mm long, positioned centrally so the six light sources distribute evenly along the table length. For shorter tables the fitting may appear over-scaled; for longer tables two separate pendants may give better coverage.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type. LED G9 bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. Standard halogen G9 bulbs are inherently dimmable with both leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers. Check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer.

How is the crystal maintained?

The crystal prisms collect dust over time, particularly in kitchens where airborne grease can settle on surfaces. Wipe each strand gently with a dry microfibre cloth every few months. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and a drop of washing-up liquid can be used, followed by immediate drying to prevent water marks.
