Description

The Adame is a single wall spotlight with a matt black cylindrical metal shade fitted on a brown faux leather handle bracket that pivots on brass bushings. The shade houses an E14 lampholder rated at 20W maximum, and the bulb (sold separately) directs light downwards through the open front of the shade or can be angled up to 90 degrees by rotating the entire head on the bracket.

Designed as directional task or accent lighting, the Adame suits bedside reading positions, hallway art lighting, and workbench or studio areas where light needs to be aimed at specific surfaces. The 25cm projection from the wall allows the shade to be angled without striking adjacent surfaces. The wall plate measures 15cm wide by 20cm tall and fits standard UK back boxes. The IP20 rating restricts use to indoor dry areas only.

The faux leather handle wrapped around the bracket adds grip texture and contrasts against the powder-coated black metal shade and brass pivot detail. The shade interior is left as bare metal, so pairing the fitting with a warm-white filament bulb bounces light off the black metal and creates a warmer reflected colour temperature than the bulb emits directly. At 0.74kg the fitting needs secure fixing into masonry or onto a stud rather than just plasterboard.

What bulb does the Adame take?

The Adame uses an E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm-white LED filament bulb at 2700K for task lighting or a higher-lumen output at 3000K for accent lighting above artwork.

Can the spotlight head be angled in multiple directions?

Yes. The entire shade rotates on brass bushings set into the faux leather handle bracket, allowing the light to be directed from straight down to approximately 90 degrees upward. The bracket itself is fixed to the wall plate and does not swivel left or right.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for indoor dry areas only and must not be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms, or other locations where it may be exposed to moisture or steam.

What fixing method is required?

At 0.74kg the Adame needs secure wall fixing into masonry using wall plugs and screws, or onto a stud if mounting on plasterboard. Plasterboard-only fixing with standard cavity fixings may not provide adequate support for the weight and the leverage created when adjusting the spotlight angle.
