Description
This Knightsbridge 5m CAT6 UTP networking cable provides RJ45 plug-to-plug connectivity for gigabit Ethernet and 10GbE network standards, supporting data transfer speeds up to 1000Mbps. The cable uses unshielded twisted pair (UTP) construction with CCA conductors inside a black PVC jacket, terminated at both ends with moulded RJ45 plugs.
Designed for connecting desktop PCs, laptops, smart TVs, games consoles and network-attached storage devices to a router, switch or modem, the 5m length suits most room layouts without requiring extension or excess cable management. The over-moulded RJ45 connectors include integrated strain relief boots that prevent sharp bends at the plug entry point, reducing the risk of conductor damage during installation or repeated connection cycles.
The moulded plugs use a snag-free design where the locking tab sits flush with the connector body, preventing the cable from catching on adjacent ports or cable guides when routing through densely-populated patch panels or rear-access network cabinets. The IP20 rating means the cable is suitable for dry indoor environments only and should not be used outdoors or in damp locations.

Frequently Asked
What speeds does CAT6 support?
CAT6 supports Fast Ethernet (100Mbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) standards. For full 10GbE performance the cable run should not exceed 55m; for gigabit speeds the maximum run is 100m.
What does CCA construction mean?
CCA stands for Copper Clad Aluminium, where the conductors have an aluminium core with a copper coating. CCA cables are lighter and more cost-effective than pure copper cables, and perform well for standard home and office gigabit network installations.
Is the cable suitable for outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating means this cable is designed for dry indoor environments only. For outdoor or damp locations you need a cable rated IP65 or higher with UV-resistant jacketing.
Will this work with CAT5e or CAT7 equipment?
Yes. CAT6 cables are backwards-compatible with CAT5e equipment and forwards-compatible with CAT7 and CAT8 devices. The network will run at the speed supported by the slowest component in the chain.
