Description

The Knightsbridge GSK298MM is a 47mm-depth galvanised steel back box designed specifically for use with Knightsbridge xx298xxx multimedia combination plates. The unit consists of four individual 2-gang boxes mounted on a shared rear plate, forming a single 279mm x 159mm assembly that accommodates multi-function wall plates combining data, AV, USB and power outlets in one location.

Designed for commercial installations, conference rooms, teaching spaces and home office setups where multiple connection types need to be grouped at a single wall location, the box sits flush within stud walls or can be surface-mounted using the rear plate as a fixing frame. Each of the four 2-gang sections has one fixed mounting lug and one adjustable lug, allowing the fitter to align the box square to the wall surface even when stud spacing is irregular. The 47mm depth provides clearance for cables behind multi-gang combination plates without excessive wall projection.

The galvanised steel construction is 1mm thick and manufactured to EN 60670, giving corrosion resistance and structural rigidity suitable for permanent installation behind plasterboard or MDF panelling. Each box section includes an earth terminal and a mix of 20mm and 25mm knockouts for cable entry, allowing standard UK electrical and low-voltage data cables to be run into the box from multiple directions. The rear mounting plate holds all four boxes in alignment during installation, eliminating the need to fit and level four separate back boxes individually.

What size are the cable entry knockouts?
