Description
The Knightsbridge 24DCIP40 is a 40W constant voltage LED driver that converts 230V AC mains to a stable 24V DC output for low-voltage LED strip lighting, rope lights and architectural LED systems. The driver sits inside a sealed IP67-rated aluminium housing measuring 182mm x 58mm x 30mm, allowing installation in outdoor locations, bathrooms, wet rooms and areas exposed to rain or dust ingress.
Designed for residential outdoor garden lighting, pathway illumination, architectural facade lighting and commercial wet-location installations, the driver is pre-wired with 300mm mains input cable and 300mm low-voltage output cable. The constant voltage output maintains a steady 24V regardless of the load, making it compatible with parallel-wired LED strip runs where each section draws the same voltage. The Class I earth connection and SELV (Separated Extra-Low Voltage) output provide isolation between mains and load circuits.
The aluminium casing acts as a heat sink to dissipate thermal load, while internal overheat and overload protection circuits shut the driver down if the unit exceeds safe operating temperature or if the load exceeds the rated 40W capacity. The grey powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and corrosion in outdoor installations. The driver is non-dimmable and supplies a fixed 24V output whenever powered.

Frequently Asked
What is the maximum LED load this driver can handle?
The driver is rated at 40W maximum output. At 24V DC, this equates to approximately 1.67A of current. Do not exceed this load — the internal overload protection will shut the driver down if the connected LED load draws more than the rated capacity.
Can this driver be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP67 rating means the driver is dust-tight and protected against immersion in water up to 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. This makes it suitable for outdoor garden lighting, pathway illumination, and installations exposed to rain or splashing.
Is this driver dimmable?
No. The 24DCIP40 is a non-dimmable constant voltage driver. It supplies a fixed 24V output whenever powered. If dimming is required, a separate mains-voltage dimmer placed before the driver may work with some loads, but compatibility is not guaranteed — contact us before attempting this configuration.
What is constant voltage vs constant current?
Constant voltage drivers like this one maintain a fixed voltage output (24V) regardless of the load, making them suitable for parallel-wired LED strip where each section needs the same voltage. Constant current drivers maintain a fixed current (measured in milliamps) and are typically used for single high-power LEDs or series-wired LED arrays.
