Description
The Knightsbridge 4-gang modular floor plate is a recessed floor outlet housing with a spring-loaded matt white steel cover plate measuring 144mm x 94.5mm. The plate accepts four standard 25x50mm euro modules or two 50x50mm euro modules, allowing installation of data sockets, HDMI, USB, power outlets and AV connectors in any combination. A foam gasket seals the plate edge against dust and debris when the lid is closed.
Designed for commercial and high-spec residential floors where surface-mounted trunking or trailing cables are impractical, the floor plate sits flush with the finished floor surface when not in use. The spring-loaded lid opens to approximately 90 degrees under finger pressure and closes automatically when released, keeping outlets protected when not in use. The matt white finish suits contemporary commercial and residential interiors, and the 16.2mm depth allows installation in raised floors with shallow voids.
The steel construction provides durability in high-footfall areas including offices, hotels, conference rooms and education spaces. An integrated earth terminal allows the steel plate to be earthed for safety. The modular design means the plate can be reconfigured by swapping euro modules without replacing the entire floor plate housing, reducing long-term maintenance costs where AV or data standards change.

Frequently Asked
What euro modules does it accept?
The plate accepts four standard 25x50mm euro modules or two 50x50mm euro modules. Compatible modules include data sockets (RJ45), HDMI, USB, 3.5mm audio, power outlets and blank plates. Modules are sold separately.
What floor construction is required?
The 16.2mm depth suits raised floors, timber floors with joists, and screeded floors where a shallow recess can be cut. A flush-mounted back box or floor vault is required to house the modules and wiring beneath the plate.
How does the spring-loaded lid work?
Pressing the lid edge opens it to approximately 90 degrees, giving access to the modules inside. Releasing the lid allows the spring mechanism to close it automatically, keeping the plate flush with the floor surface and protecting the outlets from dust and debris.
Can the modules be changed after installation?
Yes. Euro modules clip into the plate apertures and can be swapped or reconfigured without removing the floor plate housing. This allows the connectivity layout to be changed as requirements evolve.
