Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind a gunmetal flat plate with a black insert. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, and the dual USB ports share a 5V 4A output for charging modern devices alongside the two standard UK mains outlets.
Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions. The ultra-low-profile flat plate projects just 2.5mm from the wall, giving a cleaner, more discreet finish than raised-edge alternatives. The built-in gasket creates a tight seal against the wall surface, minimising gaps around the plate perimeter. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.
The gunmetal finish is a dark grey-toned metal that sits between polished chrome and matt black, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors where warmer brass tones would clash. The black insert behind the gunmetal faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture. The metal rockers match the gunmetal faceplate, maintaining a single-finish look across the front face. The premium-grade steel construction provides durability in high-use locations such as kitchens, offices and hotel rooms.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on wiring conditions. The 2.5mm projection of the flat plate means the total protrusion from the wall is minimal compared to traditional raised-edge plates.
What is the USB charging output?
The dual USB ports (one USB-A, one USB-C) share a 5V DC 4.0A output. When both ports are in use simultaneously, the total available current is split between them.
What is the difference between SP and DP switching?
SP (single-pole) switching isolates the live line only when the socket is switched off. DP (dual-pole) switching isolates both live and neutral lines, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. For most residential applications, SP switching is sufficient.
How does the flat plate differ from screwless?
Flat plate designs have no raised edges and project minimally from the wall (2.5mm in this case), creating a flush finish. Screwless refers to the cover plate attachment method, where the visible plate clips onto a sub-frame with no exposed screws. This socket is flat plate but uses visible screws at the corners for fixing.
