The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang switched socket integrates four USB charging ports behind a polished brass flat plate faceplate with black insert. The USB array provides one dedicated 2.1A port for tablets and three ports sharing 3.0A combined output for smartphones, with total USB output rated at 5V DC 5.1A. The single 13A switched socket handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W.

Designed for hospitality, commercial and residential spaces where multiple device charging is needed without occupying the main socket, the fitting suits hotel bedside positions, reception desks, coffee shop walls, and kitchen worktops. The flat plate design sits flush to the wall with a 7.7mm projection from the mounting surface, and the metal faceplate carries a gasket to seal against the back box edge. The rocker switch and USB port apertures are cut through the brass plate with a black backing visible through each opening.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that works in traditional, classical and warm contemporary interiors. The 201 stainless steel construction beneath the brass plating gives corrosion resistance, and the 2.5mm plate thickness provides rigidity without flexing when devices are plugged in. The socket requires a 25-35mm back box depth depending on cable entry configuration, and accepts standard twin-and-earth wiring with a dedicated earth terminal.

What's the USB charging output?

The four USB ports provide 5V DC 5.1A total output. One port is dedicated at 2.1A for tablets, while the remaining three ports share 3.0A combined output for smartphones. This allows simultaneous charging of a tablet plus two or three phones depending on individual device draw.

What back box depth is required?

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on wiring configuration. Tighter cable entry may require the deeper end of that range. The socket has a 22.6mm recessed depth and projects 7.7mm from the wall once fitted.

Is the flat plate screwless?
