Description

The Knightsbridge LEDFR2 is a 12V/24V IR controller and remote designed to control colour temperature adjustable LED strip lighting. The controller allows smooth dimming and CCT adjustment from 3000K warm white to 6000K cool white via the included infrared remote, with an 8-metre line-of-sight detection range.

Designed for residential and commercial LED strip installations where tunable white light is needed, the controller supports a maximum load of 72W at 12V or 144W at 24V. The remote provides on/off switching, dimming via up/down buttons, speed control for transition effects, flash modes, and four preset colour temperature buttons for quick selection. The controller connects inline between the LED driver and the strip itself using the supplied LED connector.

The controller body is a compact 61mm x 56mm x 49mm white polycarbonate housing rated IP20 for internal use only. It operates as a Class III device on low-voltage DC input, with all switching handled by the infrared signal rather than direct contact. The kit includes the IR controller unit, the handheld remote, an LED connector for strip attachment, and a CR2032 battery pre-fitted in the remote for immediate use.

What LED strips is this compatible with?

This controller works with dual-channel CCT LED strip lighting that runs on 12V or 24V DC and includes separate warm white and cool white LEDs. It does not work with RGB or RGBW strips. The strip must be rated below 72W total at 12V or 144W total at 24V to stay within the controller's maximum load.

How is the controller wired into the LED strip system?

The controller sits inline between the LED driver (power supply) and the LED strip. The driver output connects to the controller input, and the controller output connects to the strip via the supplied LED connector. The remote then controls dimming and colour temperature wirelessly.

What is the infrared range?

The remote has an 8-metre line-of-sight range to the controller. Obstructions such as furniture or walls will reduce this range. The remote must be pointed at the controller unit for the signal to be received.

Can multiple controllers be used in the same room?

Yes, but all controllers within infrared range will respond to the same remote signal. If independent control of different zones is needed, consider positioning controllers so they are not in line-of-sight of each other, or use a different control method such as RF or mains-switched zones.
