Description
The Knightsbridge FP4200PB is a 10AX 6-gang 2-way switch in polished brass, controlling six separate lighting circuits from two different switch locations. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang, making it suitable for high-wattage lighting circuits including downlight banks, track lighting systems and decorative chandeliers with multiple bulbs.
Designed for large open-plan living spaces, hallways with dual entry points, and commercial interiors requiring multi-circuit control from two positions, the switch uses a 2-way wiring configuration that allows each gang to be operated from this switch plate and a second switch elsewhere in the room. The ultra-flat plate design projects just 6.5mm from the wall once fitted, with a built-in gasket that sits flush against the wall surface.
The polished brass faceplate is fabricated from 201 stainless steel with a PVD polished brass finish that resists tarnishing and fingerprints better than traditional brass plating. The matching brass metal rockers move with a mechanical click action, giving tactile feedback when switched. The plate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm tall and requires a minimum 16mm mounting box depth, making it compatible with shallow back boxes where wall cavity depth is limited.
Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year guarantee and EN 60669-1 certification for safety and electrical performance. The polished brass finish pairs with traditional and classical interiors, warm-toned wood joinery, and period properties fitted with brass door furniture and light fittings.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
A 2-way switch allows each of the six circuits to be controlled from two different locations. You wire this switch plate at one end of the room and a matching 6-gang 2-way switch at the other end, so either switch can turn each circuit on or off independently. This is standard for hallways, staircases and large rooms with multiple doorways.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm mounting box depth is needed. The ultra-flat design allows this switch to fit shallow back boxes where wall cavity depth is limited, making it suitable for dot-and-dab plasterboard walls and surface-mounted installations.
What load can each gang handle?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which equates to 2,300W at 230V. This is sufficient for most domestic and commercial lighting circuits including LED downlight banks, track lighting and decorative fittings with multiple bulbs.
How is the polished brass finish maintained?
The PVD polished brass finish on 201 stainless steel resists tarnishing and fingerprints. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth for routine cleaning. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners and metal polishes which can damage the PVD coating.
