Description

The Knightsbridge SF4TOGPC is a 10AX 4-gang 2-way toggle switch with a polished chrome faceplate in the Ultra Flat range. Four individual toggle rockers control four separate lighting circuits, each rated to 10A at 230V. The 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be controlled from two locations — typically used in hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points.

Built from 201 stainless steel with a 4.3mm plate depth, the Ultra Flat design projects just 22.7mm from the wall once installed, giving a lower profile than standard switch plates. The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-bright reflective surface that suits contemporary, minimalist and chrome-accented interiors. An integrated gasket behind the faceplate adds moisture protection for installations in dry rooms rated to IP20.

The 16mm minimum back box depth requirement makes this switch compatible with shallow back boxes where stud work or solid walls limit recess depth. The faceplate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high, fitting UK standard 2-gang aperture spacing with the toggles arranged in two pairs. Supplied with full installation instructions and backed by Knightsbridge's 25-year guarantee.

What does 2-way switching mean?

A 2-way switch allows a single lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is commonly used on staircases where switches at the top and bottom both control the same landing light, or in bedrooms with switches at the door and bedside.

What's the difference between 10A and 10AX rating?

Both ratings handle 10A at 230V. The AX designation indicates the switch can handle the higher inrush current when switching tungsten filament bulbs or other inductive loads, making it suitable for traditional lighting circuits as well as LED.

Can this be used with LED bulbs?

Yes. The 10AX rating is compatible with LED, halogen, CFL and filament bulbs. Some very low-wattage LEDs may flicker when used with certain 2-way wiring configurations — this is a wiring issue rather than a switch fault and can usually be resolved with an inline capacitor.

Is this a screwless design?

No. The Ultra Flat range uses visible screw fixings on the faceplate. For screwless polished chrome finishes, see Knightsbridge's Screwless Flat Plate range which uses a clip-on cover plate over a separate mounting frame.
