Description

The Knightsbridge 100W constant voltage LED driver delivers regulated 24V DC output for LED strip lighting, tape lights and other low-voltage LED installations requiring up to 100W of power. Housed in a sealed aluminium enclosure with an IP67 rating, the driver operates in fully exposed outdoor locations including wall washers, garden lighting, building facades and underwater installations up to 1m depth.

Designed for fixed outdoor installations rather than portable use, the driver accepts 230V 50Hz mains input via a 300mm cable with bare wire ends for connection into a weatherproof junction box or through-wall conduit. The output side provides a 300mm low-voltage cable, also with bare ends, for field connection to LED tape or strip. The constant voltage design maintains 24V output regardless of load fluctuations within the 0-100W range, preventing brightness variations when LEDs are added or removed from the circuit.

The aluminium housing measures 199mm x 67mm x 35mm and dissipates heat through finned sides, eliminating the need for forced-air cooling. Overload and overheat protection circuits shut down the driver if the connected load exceeds 100W or if internal temperature rises beyond safe operating limits, preventing damage to both the driver and the connected LEDs. The Class I earthing and SELV output keep touch voltage below 50V DC, meeting safety standards for outdoor installation where the driver may be accessible during maintenance.

Frequently Asked

What does constant voltage mean?

Constant voltage drivers maintain a fixed output voltage (24V in this case) regardless of load changes within the rated wattage. This differs from constant current drivers, which maintain fixed amperage. LED strip and tape typically require constant voltage, while individual high-power LEDs often require constant current.

Can this be used underwater?

The IP67 rating allows submersion up to 1m depth for up to 30 minutes, making it suitable for pond lighting, fountain installations and other shallow-water applications. For permanent deep-water installation, an IP68-rated driver is recommended.

Is it dimmable?

No. This driver provides non-dimmable 24V output. If dimming is required, a separate PWM dimmer controller must be installed on the low-voltage output side, or a dimmable driver model should be selected instead.

How is it wired?

Both input and output cables have bare wire ends for field termination. The 230V mains input connects via a weatherproof junction box or through-wall conduit with appropriate IP-rated cable glands. The 24V output connects directly to LED strip or tape, observing correct polarity. The driver must be earthed via the Class I earth connection.

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund. See full delivery terms.

Returns

30-day returns window from delivery. As all our products are electrical or lighting goods, returned items must be inspected and recertified by a qualified electrician before resale — the cost of this inspection (25–40% of the item value) is deducted from your refund. Customers pay return shipping. Made-to-order, special-order and clearance items cannot be returned. See full returns policy.
