Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m E27 pendant set consists of a black nickel ceiling rose, a black fabric-covered cable, and a cylindrical black nickel bulb holder that takes a single E27 bulb. The set comes pre-wired and ready to connect to a standard UK ceiling rose, removing the need to source separate components or wire flex to a lampholder separately.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and work zones where a simple pendant drop is needed, the 1.8m cable length allows the bulb holder to hang 1.6-1.7m below the ceiling once the rose is fitted, which suits typical 2.4m ceiling heights for task lighting over worktops or dining tables. The cable can be shortened during installation if a higher hang point is needed. The E27 base accepts standard Edison screw LED, filament or halogen bulbs up to 60W, sold separately.

The black nickel finish on both the ceiling rose and the cylindrical bulb holder gives a darker metallic tone than polished chrome or brushed steel, sitting between gunmetal and satin black. The premium-grade steel construction carries a Class II double-insulated rating, meaning no earth connection is required for safe installation, though an earth terminal is provided on the ceiling rose for earthing metal light switches on the same circuit. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K, or a decorative filament bulb if the bulb will be visible below a shade.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

The 1.8m cable can be shortened during installation by looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose. Once fitted, the cable length is fixed unless you rewire. If you need a longer drop, consider purchasing additional flex separately.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. If you fit a dimmable LED or halogen bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the pendant will dim. Non-dimmable bulbs will not work with dimmers.

Does it need an earth connection?

The pendant carries a Class II double-insulated rating, so it does not require an earth connection to operate safely. However, the ceiling rose includes an earth terminal for earthing metal light switches or other accessories on the same lighting circuit.
