What is the difference between a secondary outlet and a master socket?

A master socket connects directly to the incoming BT line and typically includes surge protection and the network termination point. A secondary outlet like this module extends from existing wiring to provide additional telephone points within the building. It does not include line filtering or termination components.

What are IDC terminals?

IDC stands for insulation displacement contact. These terminals have blades that cut through the cable insulation when the wire is pressed into the terminal block, making contact with the copper core without needing to strip the wire first. This speeds up installation and reduces wiring errors.

Can this module be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require modules with higher IP ratings (typically IP44 or above) due to the presence of water and moisture.

What faceplate does it fit?
